  • Java/J2EE, Swings, struts, hibernate, core java, springs, JSP, Apache, Tomcat, Oracle, PL/SQL
  • Knowledge of WebServices, Object-oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD) & OOPS Concepts
  • Knowledge on Front end graphical user interface design on JSP.
  • Should have worked on Java/J2EE, JSP and SQl Server (or Oracle) as part of university project or course work.

Computer Science and Engineering Starting Salaries

The NACE Salary Survey of new College graduates is out (full report) and it says:
Graduates within the computer sciences fields have starting salaries that are 2.4 percent higher this year; their overall median starting salary rose from $55,087 to $56,383. employers in the information sector reported the highest number of new graduate entrants, with an impressive starting salary to boot—$64,400.
and
Computer engineering grads are the highest paid of the engineering disciplines, with a median salary of $67,800, a 0.6 percent increase over their class of 2011 counterparts’ median salary.
The figure below is taken from the full report. 'Computer Science' salaries tend to be lower than 'Computer Engineering' simply because there are many community colleges and online schools that offer Computer Science degrees, while Engineering degrees are only offered by major Universities with Engineering Colleges.

For the foreseeable future, nearly 3 out of 4 new science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) jobs in the U.S. are going to be in computing! By contrast, just 16% will be traditional engineering jobs, and even fewer will be in the sciences or mathematics.
