Help Someone out with your HTML skillz

I am a professor in the College of Education and I apologize for bothering you. I recently began a non-profit organization to help provide literacy resources to impoverished communities. I was wondering if you or any of your staff would be able to help me or send me to someone who could help design a webpage. I have the basic knowledge, but I would like my website to be much more impressive than what I am capable of. I am not sure who to contact (or if I am even in the right college) to find either a student or faculty member who might be interested in helping us get started. If you could refer me to the right person, I would appreciate it. If I have the totally wrong department or college, I apologize! Thank you, Jennifer Jennifer L. Average Starting Salary for Software Developer: $65,619

The NACE salary survey for the class of 2009 came out this summer and it reports starting salaries for computer engineers at $61,738 and for software engineers at $65,618, the highest reported starting salary:
Chemical engineering graduates posted a 2.7 percent increase to their average salary offer, which now stands at $64,902. Computer engineering graduates saw their average offer rise 3.6 percent to $61,738. Much of that bump up can be attributed to the types of positions these graduates were offered. Software design and development jobs were the most common offering, and the average salary for these jobs rose 5.6 percent over last year, from $62,155 to $65,619. Electrical engineering graduates earned one of the larger increases; their average offer rose 5.6 percent to $60,125. Civil engineering graduates, however, saw their average offer just nudge up slightly—0.8 percent—to $52,048.

Also note that by "most common offering" they mean that the number of actual jobs in software engineering is several times the number in other disciplines. This means that when you do go looking for a job you will have a more choices.

Part-Time Web Development for Upstairs Audio

You probably know Upstairs Audio in Five Points. Joe Azar is interested in hiring an intern/part-time-r for some web work and then some. Duncan Buell Professor Department of Computer Science and Engineering -----Original Message----- From: Joseph Azar To: BUELL, DUNCAN A It is a web project for the consumer electronic industry. The first part is simply forums for dealers and manufacturers, an easy project that needs good graphic design as I have a moderator. We can use phpbb for software and I have hosting for it. Someone needs to have a basic understanding of this software for forums. The next part is a daily TV guide from dealers to customers. We have developed the software that parses data for this, Graphics again are needed and a basic understanding of the software. From there we have other needs and someone will need to be able to help with some of the design in terms of GUI and structure of what we create. I do have people who can do the backroom work, including billing software, but the person I need here should be able to grow into this job and learn to do some of these things that others are doing now. This is an exciting project, quite unique, and can grow into a very profitable one, as well as be adapted to other industry classifications. A person needs to be very motivated, positive, able to create, solve problems, and work on their own initiative. Thank you, Joseph Azar 513-3357
