Could I please ask you to distribute this to any students who you think might be interested. Many thanks in advance!
Google has announced the list mentoring organisations taking part in the 2015 Summer of Code. GSoC is a program that offers opportunities to work on open source projects over the summer under the guidance of a mentor. Students are expected to work full time for the duration of the program and will receive a $5500 stipend. For more details, see the announcement blog post http://google-opensource.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/mentoring-organizations…
At this stage, you can browse the list of accepted organizations and their project ideas, and reach out to potential mentors. Student applications will open on the 16th of March.
The lowRISC (www.lowrisc.org) project has a range of project suggestions spanning many areas of open source hardware and software. We are also very interested in quality students with relevant ideas not on the suggestion list.
